Putting your money where your mouth is
Talk about giving until it hurts! The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association has turned down the donation of 100 gallons of heating fuel per household by Victor Hugu Chavez and Citgo. Given Chavez's remarks about the United States and President Bush, they felt it would be unpatriotic to accept. Given that means $500/family for some very poor people, that's an amazing example of not selling out principles.If you want to donate to help defray the cost of heating for these folks this winter, information can be found here.
